About this project:
Informed by statistics that indicate a huge decrease in children and young people attending school, and research into correlates between Emotional Intelligence and school performance, Selby Community House applied for a grant to run this project. The project is a series of workshops, engaging professional therapeutic specialists. Each workshop focuses on a different therapeutic angle, from Art Therapy to Nature-based therapy!
The project is free to attend and is for children aged 4-8 years old.
Project Resources:
“Emotional Regulation in Early Childhood: Implications for Socioemotional and Academic Components of School Readiness”
This resource is an academic paper that has informed the project “What’s That Feeling”. It is a wealth of exceptional resources and a great insight into the world of emotional intelligence.
“Child Australia: Emotional Intelligence”
The above link is another resource about Emotional Intelligence, created by Child Australia.
“Bully Stoppers: Emotional Intelligence”
This resource is provided by the Victorian Government, and is part of “Bully Stoppers” program. It gives a brief outline about Emotional Intelligence.
“Kids Helpline: Services and In-School Programs List”
